MEET OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Brian “Dyalekt” Kushner will be one of the keynote speakers at the Opening Ceremony at YOLO 23. He will also coordinate the Money Jam, a dynamic session about the influence of music on finance. “Dyalekt” grew up in St. Croix and has been a hip-hop MC, theater maker, and educator for nearly 20 years. He’s the director of pedagogy at Pockets Change, where he uses hip-hop pedagogy to demystify personal finance and help the youth take control of their relationship with money. He is the recipient of Jump$tart’s 2022 Innovation in Financial Literacy award.

Keisha Scahaff is an Antiguan and Barbudan sensation. Along with her daughter Anastatia Mayers, she became the first citizen from Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean and also the first mother and daughter duo to go into space. She is a health and wellness coach and believes in developing a healthy money mindset. She will share her money mantra and advice for good money management.
Meet Youthpreneurs Renee Edwards- Ambrose & Tamorla Millet. They appeared on Wednesday’s episode of LIKKLE BYTE IDEAS and gave us a sneak peak into their presentations. This year is shaping up as a time when Antiguan and Barbudan women (Fempreneurs) are “finding their rhythm” and taking the spotlight as innovators and achievers. There will be some amazing female presenters on the line-up.

A highlight of the YOLO Summit will be the Money Jam, organized by Pockets Change, a US-based team of financial educators. Known for their annual Hip Hop FinFest, Dyalekt, one of the organizers of this unique concert, will help the youth “find their financial rhythm,” through knowledge, creativity and self-expression.

Participants will tell their “money story” by combining spoken word, music, dance, art, culture to create original songs and performances based on “financial freedom, financial education, financial empowerment, and most importantly, changing the financial mindset. YOLO TREASURE HUNT
Designated area: Cross Street to Tanner St and Thames St to Church St (Remember CTTC).
On Sunday Sept 24th at 3PM, there will be a YOLO Treasure Hunt around St. John’s, designed to help the youth solve business problems. Teams of 2 or more participants will work together to improve their communication and problem-solving skills.
